When you choose to work with Square Corner to accomplish your remodel, you can expect a level of trust and transparency that transcends the typical interior design or contractor relationship. Our philosophy’s four tenets, Design, Intention, Craftsmanship, and Collaboration, are lived out every day by our team. Whether you’re interacting with our office staff, design or construction departments, or any other Square Corner team member, we see every project as a partnership, and we will be your trusted advisors every step of the way.
Kevin Young
President
Throughout his career of over 25 years in the construction and home renovation industry, Kevin has always aimed to create high-quality projects by prioritizing relationships with his clients. In his experience, true success is defined by staying true to his and his clients’ vision and values throughout the entire process.
Kevin earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland with a specialty in construction management. Since then, he has owned and built three companies in Kentucky and Maryland, including Square Corner. His projects have been featured in various books and publications, most notably “The Not So Big Renovation” by Susan Susanka.
When working with clients, Kevin enjoys tackling challenges head on. Likening the relationship to a marriage, he says, “We’re going to have fun, we’re going to laugh together and sometimes we’re going to have misunderstandings and disagreements. It’s in facing all of these things in a transparent, honest, and respectful manner where relationship is what matters the most.”
Kevin has four kids, all of whom live in Lexington, Kentucky, and outside of work he loves spending time outdoors fishing, camping, and hunting, and sipping bourbon while trying new recipes in the kitchen.

Pete Ring
Founder, Vice President, Production
After completing his service in the U.S. Army, Pete began his construction career in 1999 at the age of 25. He first worked as a carpenter in new construction framing, then moved into finish work, and then worked as a new home builder, earning his Maryland Home Improvement License and Pennsylvania Contractor’s License along the way.
In 2005, Pete moved to Maryland with his family to work in the renovation field and six years later in 2011 he started Lighthouse Craftsman Inc. to focus on upscale interior renovations. In 2014 Pete and Meredith teamed up for their first project together and after many successful projects, created Square Corner.
With his decades of experience, Pete knows that a relationship built on trust is what makes a project successful. It also helps to have a skilled group of people working together for the good of the project, from the client, to the designer, contractor, and trader partners. He deeply cares about the relationships he builds with his clients, many of whom often become lifelong friends. Outside of work Pete loves spending time outdoors fly fishing, snowboarding, or exploring nature.
